Alessandra Ferrajoli, MD, is a board-certified medical oncology physician and a Professor in the Department of Leukemia at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
She serves on the Panel of Scientific Advisors for the Leukemia Research Foundation, on the Advisory Board of Giants of Cancer Care, and as scientific reviewer for the National Tumor Institute and is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the International Society of Geriatric Oncology. Dr Ferrajoli has received multiple awards for her leadership in leukemia including the Paola Campese Award for Research on Leukemias from the Italian Scientists and Scholars of North America Foundation (2017) and the Leukemia Fellowship Program Teacher of the Year Award from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (2015).
Dr Ferrajoli is an ad hoc journal reviewer for at least 15 peer-reviewed journals. She has authored or coauthored at least 268 peer-reviewed journal articles and at least 5 book chapters. Dr Ferrajoli’s clinical research focus includes chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma.
