Biography

Charu Aggarwal, MD, MPH, is a board-certified medical oncologist who currently serves as the Leslye M. Heisler Assistant Professor for Lung Cancer Excellence at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She serves as Physician Leader for the Airways Malignancies Clinical Research Program at the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center. Dr Aggarwal is a selected participant in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Development Program; a Membership Committee member of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC); a Scientific Program Committee member of the ASTRO/ASCO Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancers Symposium; a Head and Neck Cancer Committee member of Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG); a Head and Neck Recurrent/Metastatic Task Force Steering Committee member of the National Cancer Institute (NCI); and an editorial reviewer for at least 9 peer-reviewed journals. She is the recipient of the 2010 Merit Award from ASCO. Dr Aggarwal is an active member of the American Association of Cancer Research, ASCO, ECOG, IASLC, and the NCI. She has authored or coauthored at least 65 peer-reviewed journal articles and at least 2 book chapters. Dr Aggarwal’s clinical research focuses on lung and head and neck cancers.
