Joyce O’Shaughnessy, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist who currently serves as Director of Breast Cancer Research and Medical Director at US Oncology Research in Dallas, Texas. Dr O’Shaughnessy serves in multiple leadership roles including Founder and Program Director of The School of Breast Oncology, Scientific Advisory Board member at The US Oncology Research Network, Scientific Advisory Board member at US Oncology, PDQ Protocol External Advisory Board member at the National Cancer Institute, and Deputy Editor of Clinical Breast Cancer. She is an ad hoc reviewer for at least 9 peer-reviewed journals and the recipient of the 2016 Giants of Cancer Care Award awarded by OncLive. Dr O’Shaughnessy is an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Medical Women’s Association, Women in Cancer Research, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She has authored or coauthored at least 290 peer-reviewed journal articles and at least 1 book chapter. Dr O’Shaughnessy’s clinical research focuses on breast cancer.
